FBL Comment Companion — Privacy Notice

This notice describes the local FBL Comment Companion application used by Ralph Peter Greiner for the FBL Meditations YouTube channel. Contact: focusbestlife@gmail.com.
Purpose and information accessed
The application uses YouTube API Services to help the channel owner read published comments, prepare replies and publish the reply text that the owner approves. Google sign-in supplies authorization tokens and the identity of the connected YouTube channel. The application does not collect the Google account password.
The application retrieves channel and video identifiers and titles, published comment text, author names or handles and available channel or profile references, timestamps, replies and reply counts. It also stores the owner’s reply drafts, translations, revision instructions and local processing or sending status.
AI processing and sharing
Only when the owner requests a draft, translation or revision, the selected comment text, relevant replies, video title, existing draft, revision instructions, confirmed channel context and a limited set of recent replies are sent to the OpenAI API to produce the requested text. Google authorization tokens are not sent to OpenAI.
The application requests that responses are not stored as retrievable API responses. OpenAI may still retain security and abuse-monitoring records under its service policies. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default unless the account owner opts in. See OpenAI’s API data controls. Processing by external service providers may take place outside the user’s country.
A reply is sent to YouTube only when the owner explicitly chooses “Auf YouTube antworten”. Published replies are visible on YouTube. The application does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models.
Local storage and retention
Comments and application records are stored on the owner’s Windows computer. Google credentials and the OpenAI API key are encrypted using Windows account protection. The local browser uses a session cookie and browser storage for the application session and unsaved editing work.
Cached YouTube source records are refreshed or removed after 30 days when the application runs. The owner’s drafts, translations, revision history and processing or sending records may remain until deleted. This local retention is separate from retention by Google, YouTube or OpenAI.
Control, deletion and revocation
In “Einrichtung → Lokale Daten verwalten”, the owner can delete locally stored comments and drafts. Browser-held editing data can also be removed using the browser’s site-data controls. Local deletion does not remove published comments or replies from YouTube.
“Einrichtung → Verbindung trennen” removes the saved Google authorization tokens and requests revocation from Google. Access can also be revoked at any time through Google account permissions. Revocation and deletion of local records are separate actions. The OpenAI API key can be revoked in the owner’s OpenAI account.

This public information page is hosted by Hostinger, which receives the connection information needed to deliver the page. The local application’s credentials and comment database are not uploaded to this website. See Hostinger’s privacy policy for its hosting practices.
